What to prepare before asking for a website quote

The matmad team·

The more clearly you can describe what you need, the faster and more accurate your quote will be — and the smoother the project that follows. You do not need every answer, but a few basics make a big difference.

Know your goal

Be clear on what success looks like: more enquiries, online bookings, selling a product, or simply looking credible. Your goal shapes everything from structure to budget.

Gather the essentials

  • A rough list of pages or sections you think you need
  • Any branding — logo, colours, fonts — if you have them
  • Content you already have, or a note of what is missing
  • Two or three sites you like, and why
  • Any must-have features — booking, payments, a blog

Be honest about budget and timing

Sharing a rough budget and deadline is not a weakness — it helps a good studio recommend the right scope instead of guessing. It saves everyone time.

Then talk it through

With those basics, we can give a clear, realistic quote and honest advice on scope. If you are missing some pieces, that is fine — part of our job is helping you fill the gaps.
